ABOUT THE ROLE
With AI disrupting how audiences consume information, Footballco is looking for a Director of Audience Insight and Growth to define the audience growth strategies for the next phase of growth at Footballco.
Media companies have had to adapt and evolve their audience growth strategies over the last couple of decades and with the introduction of AI and LLMs, this disruption is happening at a faster rate than ever before.
The role holder will take ownership of a team focused on SEO strategies, analytics and insight as well as a research function and adapt the team to focus on how we grow and engage our audiences across the Footballco brands on web, app and social.
This is an exciting new chapter for Footballco to capitalise on the changing shifts in consumer football consumption and grow Footballco brands for the future.
Working with key stakeholders across the business, you will help shape and influence the product roadmap, provide insight into content creation techniques and publishing strategies and work closely with the Affiliate team to grow and engage our intent based audiences as well as support sales with insight for media sales pitches.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Lead a data and insight team to challenge the norm and put data into the heart beat of Footballco
Own the strategy, management, and delivery of the technical and content SEO for Footballco’s websites.
Work with the VP of Product and Head of Engineering to influence all technical website changes, new website functionality and editorial content initiatives that have the potential to improve search engine and AI bot visibility & drive greater audience to the websites
Influence the content creation teams on best practices of content creation and provide user insight into what users are engaging with when and how. Your team will also provide any topical analysis and trends on content consumption
You will work closely with the VP of Affiliate, providing insight and data led thinking on how to grow and optimise Footballco’s affiliate business and growth plans
Work closely with sales leadership to provide them with insight and research to support media sales pitches and commercial understanding of the audiences
Present actionable data and insight to senior management which could influence business strategy and focus.
With an innovative mindset, use data and AI to trial new ideas to solve business problems
Lead and motivate a talented team of data and insight specialists, encouraging them to problem solve and grow Footballco’s audiences
WHAT YOU HAVE:
Previous experience managing an SEO, analytics or research function
Deep understanding of media and publishing models and how to attract and retain audiences
Knowledge of technical SEO and the evolving search engine and AI landscape is advantageous
Experience in audience tracking and segmentation for business insight and actions
Strong presentation skills and the ability to identify actional insight a must
