Footballco in the News: September and October
In October, The Sunday Times’ Will Tubbs spoke with Footballco CEO, Juan Delgado, about how our growth in America and the success of our new YouTube-first video brands mean we’re in a strong position to benefit from the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. Juan discussed revenue growth over the past few years and why we’re projecting $100m of revenue in 2026.
Our new cross-cultural football and music initiative, GOAL Projects, kicked off with Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak, as covered by Billboard and other leading music titles. Goal Projects will see future collaborations with prominent musicians which celebrate music, creativity, and community. For this inaugural project, Anderson .Paak co-designed a limited-edition football shirt, t-shirt, and ball, bringing his creativity to the world of football.
Proceeds will benefit the Brandon Anderson Foundation and the Oxnard Eagles, the girls’ youth football team in his hometown of Oxnard, California, providing uniforms and resources, with the team proudly wearing the Anderson .Paak jersey throughout their matches.
Multiple outlets in Italy, including Engage, covered our new partnership with Sport Network. The partnership with the Amodei Group's media company will see Sport Network working with our team in Italy grow advertising partnerships across our titles in the country, including GOAL, Calciomercato, 1VS1, ilBianconero and INDIVISA.
October saw us celebrate GOAL’s 25th anniversary, marking 25 years of GOAL’s unique global approach to covering football. We marked this with a video featuring players old and new wishing GOAL a Happy Birthday. Sending their best wishes included Harry Kane, Brazilian legend Zico, transfer market servant Fabrizzo Romano, and Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio.
The anniversary was also marked by SportsPro, who allowed our Executive Editor-in-Chief, Stefan Coerts, to illustrate how the brand’s history has been one focused on constant innovation.
