Bayo Akinfenwa partners with Footballco for Beast Mode On Podcast

Former footballer Adebayo (Bayo) Akinfenwa has partnered Footballco for a new podcast series featuring players who have defied the odds in their careers and overcome significant obstacles.

Beast Mode On launched today (July 3) with the first episode featuring Watford FC legend, Troy Deeney. Deeney discusses his career, his troubled childhood and his relationship with his father, who passed away days before Deeney began a 10-month prison sentence. The next episode of Beast Mode On will star West Ham legend, Michail Antonio.

The series’ theme is rooted in the challenges Akinfenwa faced through his own career, including being labelled as ‘too big’ for a career in football. Instead, he channelled this negativity into more than 20 years as a professional footballer known for his strength, power and resilience.

Beast Mode On is being distributed across podcast platforms and a new Beast Mode On YouTube channel, with content also distributed across Akinfenwa’s own social channels and those of Footballco’s GOAL brand.

GOAL has a history of creating player-led video content as well as the popular YouTube series GOAL’s Front Three, which focuses on games and challenges and with more than 1.5 billion views in the past 12 months.

Across Footballco’s portfolio of brands, the company generates over one billion video views per month.
