PFA Names Footballco as Official Media Partner for the 50th PFA Awards

Footballco has been named the Official Media Partner for this year’s Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Awards which are taking place at Manchester’s Lowry Theatre on Tuesday, August 29.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the PFA Awards which recognise the outstanding performers from every division in the Premier League, the English Football League and the Women’s Super League, and are voted for by members of the players' trade union, the Professional Footballers' Association.

On the night, The PFA will announce the PFA Players’ Player of the Year winners, the PFA Young Player of the Year categories and each divisional Team of the Year will be named. In addition to the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year, footballing achievement will be honoured through the PFA’s Merit Award.

Footballco’s coverage will span its portfolio of football media brands, including global media brands GOAL, MUNDIAL, NXGN, and Indivisa.

All brands will cover the awards in their own unique way, giving fans access to the biggest players in English football from the red carpet to the Winner’s Room.

James Lamon, EVP of Content and Operations at Footballco said: “We’re proud to be associated with the PFA Awards in such an important year. Through this exclusive partnership, we’re able to give our millions of fans access to the best players in football and take them beyond the red carpet to one of the biggest nights in the footballing calendar.

“By covering the awards through four of our brands, we’re able to showcase the PFA Awards beyond what’s often expected at such events. This includes women’s football through Indivisa as well as reaching Gen-Z and Gen-A through NXGN with a focus on the PFA Young Player of the Year categories.

“MUNDIAL will be covering the event in their own inimitable style, and assisting with gifting of the winners of each category.

“GOAL’s coverage of the night will include the winners and other guests taking part in our social-first formats which earn 100s of millions of views across TikTok and Instagram.”

Maheta Molango, PFA CEO said: “We’re delighted to have Footballco on board as our partner for this year’s PFA Awards.

“As this is the 50th anniversary of the awards, this is already a special year. We’re also introducing a brand new format for the awards ceremony which we’re excited that Footballco are going to help us showcase.

“The PFA Awards have global appeal beyond traditional football audiences, and this partnership will help us reflect that.”
