James Lamon
EVP Content & Operations
James runs Content and Operations, leading the maker divisions at Footballco who produce video, news, social media, marketing, events, and PR from our global offices. In his time at Footballco he has overseen the acquisition of seven brands and defined the company’s vision for content transformation, overseeing growth in editorial video, branded content, affiliate, and events.
James has extensive growth experience building audiences across digital video and social media platforms, web and mobile applications, marketing, events, and more. His core competency is defining content strategy then translating that strategy into reality and revenue. Prior to joining Footballco, James was Head of Content, Europe for BuzzFeed where he launched and managed a portfolio of brands in entertainment, food, and travel, running both the editorial and branded divisions of the business.
James began his career as a Creative Strategist and Creative Director, working with a portfolio of global brands including Sky, Diageo, P&G, Mars, BMW, Porsche, Google, Samsung, The North Face, Visa, Visit Britain, and Visit Texas.
A Texas native, James graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with majors in English, Philosophy, and Government.
Outside of Work
James is an avid runner, cook, film buff, husband, and father to two young children.
