GOAL NAMED AN OFFICIAL MEDIA PARTNER OF $1M THE SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Global football publisher, GOAL has been named the official media partner of The Soccer Tournament (TST), a 32 team, seven-versus-seven, winner takes all tournament with a $1 million prize being played in the US this Summer.

Teams announced for TST, which is being held in Cary, North Carolina from June 1-4, include Borussia Dortmund, Wrexham, Wolves, West Ham, Charlotte FC, and Hashtag United.

The professional teams are joined by squads created by US men’s national (USMNT) team legend Clint Dempsey (Team Dempsey) and a partnership of fellow USMNT players Jimmy Conrad and DaMarcus Beasley (Conrad & Beasley United).

Former US Women’s National Team (USWNT) player and three-time Olympic gold medal winner Heather O’Reilly is organising a team which will feature other former USWNT players (US Women).

Teams taking part in TST will comprise current first-team players, legends and stars of social media including Noah Beck (Borussia Dortmund) and Castro (Dallas United).

GOAL’s support for the tournament will cover both the build-up and the tournament itself as it builds up excitement ahead of kick-off and ensures fans around the world are aware of the tournament and its unique format.

During TST, GOAL will cover the action both on the pitch and on the sidelines across its web, app and social channels with supporting content distributed across the whole Footballco network which reaches over 800m fans a month.

GOAL’s coverage will include streaming games live outside of America and Mexico across GOAL social channels.

GOAL will also be creating TST content in line with its player-led and fan-led video strategies, applying existing and popular video formats to feature the stars of the tournament and the fans in and around the stands.
