What’s the role about?

6 Months Fixed Term Contract

Footballco is working with some of the biggest sponsors, players and clubs in the Saudi Pro League. We will be running major Saudi brand partners’ digital channels and activating ground-breaking sponsorships with Saudi Arabian clubs. We will be creating and distributing visually compelling content that showcases brands’ association on Footballco owned channels and club channels.

As our Client & Content Operations Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the digital project, ensuring successful strategy and delivery. The role will be multifaceted with responsibility to manage stakeholder relationships in Saudi Arabia and the UAE - including working with our partner marketing agencies, the client, and clubs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Build strong relationships with key clients, agencies and peers within the wider marketing team. Become the leader for digital & social football tentpole moments, alongside the Digital Project Lead.

  • Lead all internal stakeholders including editorial, creative, strategy and social content teams to define project deliverables, and key milestones.

  • Clarify client briefs, Identify relevant insights and package them in relevant ways

  • Be able to identify, validate and communicate a strategic solutions to brand or audience challenge

  • Clearly brief, inspire and feedback to creative and content teams. Evaluate concepts and creative work against the original strategy

  • Craft content strategies/delivery plans that get the best out of social and digital platforms, delivering measurable results

  • Use your ability to clearly communicate, collaborate and persuade to drive projects through to successful conclusions, often within challenging timelines.

  • Present proposals to senior client & agency stakeholders

  • Collaborate with external agencies, vendors and partners to ensure seamless execution of projects and spotting new opportunities to digitise wider campaigns, always adhering to quality standards and partner brand guidelines.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential opportunities and proactively take actions to keep campaigns on track to exceed target. Establish and maintain effective communication channels to ensure all stakeholders are informed about project status, updates, issues and changes.

  • Regularly monitor and evaluate project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Ability to provide feedback on branded content ideas and campaigns, as well as understanding the nuances of editorial publishing (GOAL, KOOORA and INDIVISA) and how those channels can support brand objectives in parallel with the partner brand.

What you have:

  • At least five years’ experience working as a Project Lead, Strategist, Client Manager or a operations role, preferably within the media or football industry and in connection to agencies, rights holders and/or brands.

  • Strong understanding of how brands activate sponsorship campaigns on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and X.

  • Arabic speaking preferred but not a deal breaker

  • An understanding of the Saudi football landscape, especially in relation to the Saudi Pro League, or a proven track record of adapting quickly to become encyclopaedic on subjects in an unfamiliar role (for candidates who don’t have strong football knowledge)

  • Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Proficient in project management tools and software.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Can craft presentations to explain plans, performance and more to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of content publishing and how social analytics tools can be used to optimise brand awareness, consideration, conversion and loyalty.

  • Outstanding leadership skills, capable of guiding and motivating project teams towards successful project delivery. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • A self-starting and professional attitude that inspires your colleagues, building trust with client stakeholders in your publishing and strategy.
