What is Footballco?

Footballco is the world’s biggest dedicated football content and media business. Reaching more than 400m football fans across the world each month, and with a growing roster of brands including Goal, Voetbalzone, and Spox, no one else has our reach or depth of understanding within the game. With over 300 employees globally, we’re a young company with some established brands and serious investment behind us. Our future starts now…

What’s the role about?

Footballco is launching their brand focused on female fans, INDIVISA in the USA. Indivisa aims to create a community for women who love the beautiful game, on any level, on and off the field. To do that we need a skilled social media expert, brand champion and go-getter with that same passion for the sport to help turn that vision into reality.

This position will be full-time working closely with a growing US team from other departments, as well as our global HQ (London). This US expansion is an exciting opportunity for an individual to guide the brand through the process of establishing our US tone of voice and positioning - both commercially and editorially. This is just the start of what we hope to do within women’s Football/ soccer—so it is a chance not just to make that statement yourself, but to grow within FootballCo.

This position is based in New York. We offer competitive compensation and a bonus scheme.

What You'll be doing?
  • Lead our strategy as we move into the US women’s soccer space - being a champion for the women’s game and embedded in the culture whilst growing an audience for a new social-first brand.

  • Write, prepare and post content to appear on social channels daily including the production of video content with both fans and players.

  • Work closely with the design and creative team in the creation of original imagery and video that will appear on the page and align with our brand guidelines led by the Global team.

  • Review and moderate the comments sections of our posts to help build an inclusive and constructive community where fans feel welcome and celebrated

  • Coordinate with the rest of the FootballCo business as a rep for the brand in the US as we work on global branded content campaigns and global editorial plans.

  • Reach out to brands and individuals for collaborations as well as ways to partner with regards to events, products and talent.

What you have?
  • 3 years of professional social media experience, including experience producing work for a variety of platforms and social networks, ideally at a football/sports/lifestyle publisher

  • Obsession with social media and football culture; deep understanding of what people want to share and what makes publishers/brands successful

  • Understanding of the digital and social media landscape

  • Understanding of analytics, data, and using data to drive insights and performance

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to look ahead in content planning

  • Finally, this brand is built around community, lifestyle and fandom, so whilst an interest in the game itself is a plus, a love for the culture around football – apparel, travel, music, gaming etc are all key as well.

You should include the following to apply:

• Links to your social media accounts or other social media accounts you've worked on

• A few short paragraphs explaining why you'd be a great fit for this position

• A CV
