What’s the role about? 

Footballco is looking for an Assistant Accountant to assist the Senior Financial Reporting Manager in maintaining compliance with all statutory accounting and reporting, and helping to scale the Company’s finance function through significant growth. Our ambition is to make Footballco’s brands – Goal, Spox and Voetbalzone – the most loved publishers in sport. We want to build deep relationships with people; to be the first app they check in the morning, and the last IG page they scroll at night.

Your mission is to make this vision a reality. This position is based in our London office.

We offer competitive compensation, as well as fully supporting the successful candidate’s accounting qualifications (ACCA). You will report to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager, who sits in the London office, and work with the accounting and finance teams in London and Poland.


Here's what you will be doing:
  • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated Group financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including supporting schedules and relevant disclosures

  • Identify and prepare top-side adjustments to the financial statements for review by the Senior Financial Reporting Manager

  • Ensure local GAAP adjustments are made within the preparation of local entity financial statements

  • Play a key role in the preparation of local financial statements, and local statutory audits, working closely with the Statutory Reporting Accountant

  • Assist the shared service team in Poland with liaising with external and local audit requests

  • Support the team in building a strong internal control environment around the preparation and review of consolidation and financial reporting

  • Travel to Poland to work with the shared services team in build an efficient set of financial controls and processes

  • Ad-hoc work as prescribed by the Senior Financial Reporting Manager

It would be great if you already have experience doing this:
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant discipline

  • Early accounting qualification (AAT) or studying towards ACCA

  • Audit and accounts preparation experience

  • Working on multiple deliverables / strong project management skills

  • Working in an international organisation

  • Maintaining compliance with statutory accounting requirements across multiple international legal entities

  • Big 4 experience (preferred but not required)

  • Oracle/NetSuite experience (preferred but not required)
