What’s the role about?

The Commercial arm of Footballco is looking for an Account Director to be based in our Dubai office, to help grow the business in the region.

The role will be multifaceted with responsibility to manage new & existing client relationships, be at the forefront of new market initiatives, help the sales team drive revenue numbers and be responsible for implementing the strategy & delivery of client campaigns.

If you’ve spent a number of years working in a senior position within an agency, rights holder or brand, delivering digitally and socially led football content marketing campaigns targeting sports fans; and if you truly understand the sports media landscape and the power of social media to engage with fans – then we want to hear from you! A relocation package is available for this role for the right candidate. We offer compensation and a bonus scheme. You will report into the Global Head of Client Services.

What You'll be doing?
  • Client Management - Become the face of Footballco campaign delivery & relationships in the region. Leading on all client campaigns from advising pre sale to delivery with Creative, Production, Social and Editorial.

  • Stakeholder Management - Work with the wider MENA team to highlight new opportunities; whilst managing existing partner relationships with agencies, rights holders, publishers, clubs & retailers

  • Renewal Business - Work closely with the sales team in the market and the central client services function in London to ensure top quality delivery leads to repeat business with clients.

  • Commercial acumen - Understand the commercial landscape within the region, with the ability to unearth new, previously untapped opportunities

  • Campaign activation & reporting – Own the activation and optimisation of campaigns and ensure they over deliver against predefined KPIs within the allocated budget. Create final reports and case studies that help Sales teams to showcase Footballco’s capabilities in a new market

  • Creative understanding - Ability to showcase Footballco’s creative work to partner ; and have a good understanding of the media platform formats and styles of creatives that work best on each platform

  • Editorial growth - Work closely with internal brands leaders to flag opportunities & help to deliver against them

  • Team Leadership – Work closely with the Head of Client Services to build a team and culture that ensures maximum output whilst developing junior team members

What you have?
  • At least 7 years’ experience working in a senior account handling role within an agency, right holder or brand environment preferably in sport

  • Extensive knowledge of sports media, digital marketing and the social media space

  • Experience of working with brands, leagues or broadcasters on social media platforms

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple clients and tasks

  • Delivering client presentations

  • Demonstrable examples of client renewals and upsells

  • Managing budgets and invoicing

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent people management and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels

  • Ability to work across multiple teams

  • A high degree of self-motivation

  • A committed, positive and proactive approach

  • Strong commercial awareness
